In 1970, former NASA physicist Leonard Casley, declared his 18,500 acre (75 sq. km.) farm independent from Australia over a dispute about wheat quotas. He took the title of Prince Leonard. He issued these coins in 1977, picturing him on one side and the nation’s arms on the other.
