Nightingale Island is an active volcanic island that is part of the Tristan da Cunha group. Though it has no permanent inhabitants, Tristan da Cunha has issued this 2011 coin set for the island. Each coin in the eight coin set features sea life. Included is the 38mm 1 Crown, a bi-metallic 25 Pence as well as the 20, 10, 5, 2, 1 and ½ Pence. The name of the island is on the reverse, and Queen Elizabeth and “Tristan da Cunha” is on the obverse.
