MULTICOLOR SILVER PROOF COIN CONTAINING ORIGINAL SHIP WRECK COAL

The SS Republic, a sidewheel steamship, was lost in a hurricane in October 1865. It was carrying about 100 passengers and a large quantity of gold coins. Though most of the passengers survived, the gold went down with the ship. The wreck was rediscovered in 2003 in about 1700 feet (500m) of water and a salvage commenced. This coin includes a piece of coal salvaged from the wreck, embedded in a multicolor picture of the ship. The oval coin is 45mm x 30mm contains 25 grams of sterling silver. The coin has a mintage of only 1865 pieces and comes housed in a treasure chest box with a Certificate of Authenticity.

EMBEDED ACTUAL METEORITE ANTIQUE FINISH SILVER COIN

An actual piece of Meteorite NWA 4037 is embedded in this high relief 2015 dated 5 Dollar silver coin from Cook Islands. NWA 4037 is Chondrite meteorite that broke up over North West Africa. Pieces were found in Morocco in 2005. Chondrites are stony meteorites formed from dust and grains that were present in the early solar system. The reverse features a real piece of the meteorite in the center of a partially colored deep crater-like impact. The obverse features the bust of Queen Elizabeth. The 38.61mm coin contains 1 ounce of .999 fine silver and was struck with an antique finish. Only 2500 pieces were minted. The coin comes in a capsule with a metal box and Certificate of Authenticity.

MULTICOLOR SILVER PROOF COIN CONTAINING METEORITE

This 2012 dated 5 Dollars multi-colored coin contains pieces of famous meteorites which was found in the dry bed of river Hekandue, Eastern Siberia, Russia in June 1967. The reverse of the coin has a multi-color image the meteorite crashing into the river and a piece of the actual meteorite. The obverse depicts Queen Elizabeth II. The 38.6mm Proof coin contains 20 grams of sterling silver. It comes in a custom metal box with a Certificate of Authenticity. It has a mintage of only 2500 pieces.

UNUSUAL SHAPE SILVER PROOF COIN

This unusual shape Proof Silver Crown with Swarovski Elements legal tender Five Dollars coin struck by authority of the Government of the Cook Islands in 2010, depicts a Nativity Scene that has been attribued to Boticelli. This coin was struck from 28.28 grams of .925 fine silver and has nine Swarovski crystal elements embedded in the coin above the manger scene.

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic in 1912, The Cook Islands released this unusual multi-colored sterling silver Proof coin. UNUSUAL 3-DIMENTIONAL SILVER PROOF COIN

Easter Island, a special territory of Chile, is a Polynesian island in the southeastern Pacific Ocean, at the southeastern point of the Polynesian triangle. Easter Island is famous for its monumental statues, called moai, created by the Rapanui people. Moai, the 'living faces' of deified ancestors, are monolithic human figures carved from rock on Easter Island between 1250 and 1500 AD. Almost all moai have overly large heads three-fifths the size of their bodies. The statues' production and transportation is considered a remarkable intellectual, creative, and physical feat. The tallest moai erected, called Paro, was almost 33 feet high and weighed 75 tons; the heaviest erected was a shorter but squatter moai, weighing 86 tons. As shown in these images, this Ten Dollar legal tender proof silver crown was minted in such a way that the gold-plated moai can be inserted vertically into a slot on the coin to create a three-dimensional view, a miniature version of the statues on Easter Island.

METEORITE COIN

This multi-colored silver 2010 Five Dollar coin from the Cook islands contains an actual piece of Meteorite HAH 280. The meteorite, found in Jabal al Gharab in the Hammadah al Hamra region of Libya in 2000, is a very rare carbonaceous chondrite meteorite in the CK4 group. CK4 meteorites often contain amino acids needed to make cells, leading some to speculate that such meteorites may have brought the basis of life to earth. One side of the coin depicts a dramatic and brightly colored exploding asteroid ejecting the meteorite. The other side depicts a far less dramatic portrait of Queen Elizabeth. the 25 gram sterling silver coin is 38.6mm in diameter. It has a mintage of just 2500 pieces and the coin has an antique finish.

MULTI-COLOR SILVER PLATED PROOF COIN ON EGYPTIAN QUEEN NEFERTITI

Cook Islands issued this multi-color Silver Plated coin on Egyptian Queen Nefertiti. Nefertiti lived from about 1370BC to 1330BC and was the wife of Egyptian Pharaoh Akhenaten. They made an unsuccessful attempt to replace Egypt’s polytheistic religion with a monotheistic religion worshiping Aten, the sun disk. Behind the bust is the image of an ancient stone altar depicting Nefertiti and Akhenaten playing with their daughters while being blessed by Aten, the sun disk. The 38.6 mm Proof coin has a mintage of only 5000 pieces.

MULTI-COLOR SILVER PLATED PROOF COIN ON EGYPTIAN HISTORY

King Tutankhamun and the the Great Temple at Abu Simbel are featured on these Multi-colored silver-plated Dollar coins of the Cook Islands. One coin features a Multi-color picture of the famous gold mask of King Tutankhamun. King Tut came to the throne at age 9 and reigned for only 10 years before dying at age 19 in 1324BC.The other coin has a Multi color picture of the Great Temple at Abu Simbel. The Abu Simbel temples were completed about 1244BC by Pharoh Ramesses II as a monument to himself and his wife Queen Nefertari. Both coins are 38.6mm in diameter and are Queen Elizabeth is on the obverse.

To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the first television, the Cook Islands issued this 39mm copper-nickel 1 Dollar coin in 2006. Pictured on the coin is a black and white picture of John L. Baird, the first successful inventor of electronic television, and a moving recreation of his first broadcast; a hand moving in front of a puppet. The obverse pictures Queen Elizabeth. It is an unusual coin - and ideal for those who like to watch television and collect coins.
